Blender 2.41 is out. Time to upgrade.

Quote from Blender's 2.41 Release Notes: "The focus of this release is the Game Engine which has added a number of nice new features such as GLSL shaders, the capability of using multiple materials and uv maps; multiple viewports; as well as a number of important fixes such as the return of the armature system."

One of my latest projects on what I have been working on, is the Alcugs Project . Alcugs was an open source server for a MMOG that was cancelled a lot of time ago. One of the sub-projects was a set of tools that allowed to export meshes and other stuff to the propietary format used by the game client. The objective was to enable the fan community to create mods for one of the best games that I have played.

Now, the company that created the game has decided that this was going too far. At this time about 13 ages were publicy released by different authors. Now some authors have discontinued their work and some have permission to continue working on them, but they do not have permission to release them. They can not share these wonderful creations. I hope that this will be a temporary decission until we know more in the future.

The death of Alcugs

Uno de los últimos proyectos en los que he estado trabajando, es el Proyecto Alcugs. Alcugs era un servidor de código abierto para un MMOG que fue cancelado hace mucho tiempo. Uno de los subproyectos, era una serie de herramientas que permitian exportar modelos, objectos y otras cosas al formato propietario usado por el cliente del juego. El objetivo era permitir que la comunidad de fans pudieran crear modificaciones para uno de los mejores juegos que he jugado.Ahora, la compañia que creo el juego ha decidido que esto estaba yendo muy lejos. Hasta unas 13 eras habían sido publicadas por diferentes autores.

Ahora algunos autores han dejado de trabajar de ellas, otros han conseguido permiso para continuar trabajando, pero estos últimos no tienen permiso para publicarlas. No es possible compartir estas maravillosas creaciones, y espero que esta decision sea una medida temporal hasta que sepamos más en el futuro.

hmm, seems that is working. Another application installed, more chances that someone may find a security hole and destroy everything hosted here. hmmm xmlrpc.php, I don't like how it sounds...
Now, I need to add an allow from all line to the .htaccess file and this site will be accessible from any ip.

Oh, and I installed another security related mod to the alcugs project phpbb forum that should allow me to get more info about these suspisius registrations with Casino spam.
